The Htc Evo 4G is the first smartphone to run on Sprint's high-speed 4G WiMax network. Here is what you need to know about the first WiMax-capable phone before it hits the streets.
What makes Evo 4G so special is its 4G wireless support. Agreeing to Sprint, its 4G network offers download speeds ten times faster than those offered by a 3G connection. That said, 4G (also called WiMax wireless) is still a new technology and is not available in many places. In fact, as of mid-May, Sprint's 4G network is available to only nearby 41 million people. An additional 80 million population are staggering to get the service by the end of this year.
